Alex and his Noni share the love of nature. They have since the day he got home from the hospital.
When Alex was a newborn, he and Noni would spend the early mornings out on our front porch swing listening to birds and cats and dogs and looking at squirrels. That was their special time together while I got a couple more hours of sleep.
One morning after Noni had brought Alex back in, she looked at him while telling me what she had shared with him on the swing that day. "Mommy, we saw the sunshine today. And I told Little Man that those rays of sunshine are like the fingertips of God coming down to touch his face." I can still hear exactly how she said it. It is probably my most treasured memory from his first few days at home.
This week, Alex and Noni have been enjoying their love of nature together with walks, a little bird watching, collecting leaves, rocks and acorns, and sniffing the flowers in Noni's garden. Lots of sunshine. And lots of savoring God's sweet goodness with our time together.

Tears and snot. You know how that is. Knowing this sweet, sweet time will come to an end soon. I love you and my Little Man so very much. This time has been the greatest gift to my spirit and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know how hard that trip is... and I know it is even harder with our busy Little Man. I know it is hard to be away from your own home and your routine... And, for all of that I especially appreciate that you are here. I am going to savor every single moment. I love you and Little Man bigger than the sky... to the moon and back. Thank you. XOXOXOXOXO
What beautiful words from Noni to her Little Man! It's so wonderful that they have such a special relationship, and despite the distance there is always room for that relationship to grow and blossom in unimaginable ways. I'm so glad you are enjoying your visit and I can't wait to see what else is in store for you and LM!!
What a special bond for them to share. I know I definitely feel closer to God when I am witnessing his beautiful creation.
