Hangin' Out in the Crib

Meet Pedro and Jethro. They are Alex's (formerly known as Baby Correa) new crib friends. They are eager for his arrival.

Sammy is, too. See them chillin'? They're kickin' back in style with the new crib bedding Granny made. (THANK YOU, GRANNY! WE LOVE IT!)

Peek-a-boo. Alex, where are you?

Sammy says it best for Baby Alex: "So many of my smiles begin with you."

Answered Prayers

To those of you who sent up a prayer for my friend Lauri and her precious baby girl Kaitlynn - THANK YOU! Lauri's delivery went very well – Kaitlynn made her debut after only two pushes (Dear God, I'd love it if you helped Baby Correa come out as easily, too! <:-) ). And, baby Kaitlynn is perfectly healthy at 6 lbs. 13 oz.

I am so excited about this precious little bundle of joy! Welcome to the world Baby Kaitlynn!

Guest Bathroom Reveal

After seven months of living in Mirabelle, we have finally finished all of the major construction work that we started when we moved in. Please note use of the word "major" here. There are still plenty of "small" projects to do to keep us busy as long as we live in this house. Oh, and there's lots of decorating still to be done. But in the meantime, I've decided to post some of the before and afters of our upstairs guest bathroom.

Gone are the cracked plaster walls, the linoleum tile floors, the nasty stained toilet, the awkwardly placed lighting, the exposed pipes, and the poorly built framework around the tub.

They've been replaced with new sheet rock and crown molding, tile floors, a sparkling new toilet, farmhouse style light fixtures (and a recessed light in the ceiling with a fan to pull out the moisture), plumbing that runs under the floor, and new tile and framework around the tub.

Here's some detail of the tile work. I love the sweet little pearl accents.

Can't wait to have visitors...

Prayers for Baby Girl

Tomorrow is a very special day. Tomorrow, my very dear friend Lauri will go to the hospital to be induced. And tomorrow, I will become Aunt Amanda once again – to one very precious Baby Girl Courtright!

If you're reading this blog posting, I'm asking for special prayers for Lauri and baby Kaitlynn. For several months now Lauri's doctor has been monitoring Kaitlynn's progress and growth, and she's found some potential markers for Down's Syndrome, but they won't know for sure until she's born. Lauri's strength, her faith, and her unwavering hope have been inspiring to me. =)

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the precious gift of sweet little Kaitlynn. I can only imagine what joy she is going to bring to You and to all of us - especially Jeff, Lauri, Collin, Kevin, and Connor. I ask that you surround their family tomorrow with your love. Please keep Lauri and Kaitlynn safe during delivery. Please help Lauri feel your presence and let her know that you are there with her every step of the way. Not just tomorrow, but in all of the days ahead. I know that you intend for all of your children to have great meaning and purpose in life, and we are excited about all that you have in store for this sweet new bundle of joy.

In Jesus' name.
Amen
