Jerry has been quarantined to our office since Sunday. Fortunately our office has French doors so that I could take Alex by to see his daddy for daily "visits." It's been very hard seeing Jerry in there, and we are so excited that tonight is his last night to have to stay isolated. I am so ready to get to have him with us again.
I have been trying to heal from third degree tears that I got during the delivery. I'll spare the gory details, but suffice it to say that it's not been easy to get around the house and take care of Alex like I'd like to. Fortunately my mom is here, and has been able to help us out. Alex has been spoiled by her, and, boy, does he love his Noni. She seems to have the magic touch with him.
On a happy note, Alex is doing GREAT. His jaundice is starting to clear up. He's gaining weight. He's nursing well (and all the time, I might add). And he's generally a happy baby. Although, he DOES NOT like getting his diapers changed. And there are plenty to change.
I haven't managed to get as many photos as I'd like this first week, but here are a few that I thought I'd share.
Sweet dreams.
First bath.

Precious angel.

So, so, so sweet! Glad Jerry will be able to join you guys again tomorrow. I can't imagine how hard this must have been on him and you guys. Alex is looking mighty handsome these days. Love the big brown eyes and precious hair. I'm glad the nursing is going well - I think that's the hardest part of the first few weeks so give yourself and Alex a pat on the back!
Oh goodness, how sweet is he!!!! I'm sooooo glad to hear things are going well for you guys, except that Jerry has been so sick. So glad he is feeling better now. I'm so glad the nursing is going well. What a blessing, b/c that can cause much stress in the beginning if it's hard. He looks like such a sweet angel. I can't wait to talk to you and hear more details of your sweet little one! I can't believe it's been a week already! I hope you are healing well, I know it must not be easy getting around. Hopefully you will heal quickly. My ob/gyn has told me in the past that part of the body has amazing healing abilities, so hopefully it will do what it needs to do and quick!!! We get back from Yellowstone late on Saturday so I'll try to give you a call on Sunday. Love you!
So adorable! I know this week has been rough. I am so glad the nursing is going well...it is so good for him and you! I check the blog often hoping for more updates and pictures but am not surprised because I remember how crazy it is at first trying to take care of you and baby. Cherish the moments...it goes by so quick. Before you know it they are running around and not even needing your help. It sounds good now, but it is good and bad! Isabel keeps saying she wants to see Alex and she wants to take him her playground! But when we pray she prays for "Jerry, Manda and the baby in her tummy" still! Love yall! Hope you have a fun visit with Aunt Sylba. SO jealous!
Yep, gotta say a 3rd time how beautiful he is!!! Love the photos. Glad Jerry is better - what terrible timing but nothing will take away from how precious these days are.
Btw, I didn't realize you had another Dana in your life who has a Jackson. Weird!
