Alex had an Easter parade at school, and each child was asked to make an Easter bonnet/hat to wear. I was all prepared to whip out a construction-paper, bunny-ear headband, but thank goodness I had the sense to ask one of the other moms about her son's hat. After she described what they had done last year, I immediately scrapped my plans and went back to the drawing board. 'Cause let me just say that construction paper ears weren't gonna cut the mustard. Here's what we came up with... (and, of course, Roo was not to be left out - even though his class didn't participate in the parade. His teacher was nice enough to let him wear the hat to school that day, though.) Blue for Alex, pink for Roo. Their favorite colors.
After teaching two preschool classes at church on Sunday morning and attending one service for worship, we raced home for quick naps and got ourselves ready for dinner and an egg hunt at one of our friends' house. We've done Easter with them the last few years, and we are so, so grateful to have such wonderful friends to celebrate such a special holiday with.
The boys aren't all that crazy about "handsome shirts." Or looking handsome for that matter. Yes, telling them that they look "handsome" is not a compliment in their books. I was able to coerce them into these shirts by picking colors for each that Alex would tolerate and Roo would love.
And here's Roo with his friend Emma Grace. So sweet together! Grateful for these precious kids and friendships and for a good God who has given us reason to celebrate through Jesus' resurrection!
