One of the things that stands out in my mind from this trip is that nearly every day, there was some piece of unexpected "magic." Nothing over-the-top, but rather a handful of simple, ordinary things that felt extraordinary for us to get to enjoy while together as a family.
Magnificent moonrises and capturing the last moments of the "blue hour."
Finding a little sand crab on the beach while building sand castles.
And Roo taking it all in in amazement and wonder – just the way His great creation should be enjoyed.
Fireworks on the beach. We parked ourselves right on the balcony and took in the free show. The boys especially loved it.
A "backstage" kitchen tour at the local Chick-fil-A during lunch one day. Jerry and the boys got to go back and see the ins and outs of how the best chicken sandwich in the world is made. And they learned Truett Cathy's (the Chick-fil-A founder) "Happy Cheer." Truett has always asked his employees, "Is everybody happy?!" And they always respond, "H-A-P-P-Y!!"
Such a great vacation and so grateful that God gave us these wonderful little "extras" to enjoy along the way. =)

It's that last little arm gesture that makes that an absolute Roo Moment. He added his emphasis and exuberance to so many wonderful things on this Griswold Excursion. ;) I wish I were with Alex in the Y-azy Y-iver, Roo in my lap right now. xoxo
